Circo Brasserie

Cheltenham

Circo celebrates the fast paced pandemonium, the wonderful everyday craziness and eccentricity of European hospitality. That back of house bedlam always hand in hand with a touch of theatre and debonair.

Circo is playful, never taking itself too seriously but always presenting itself elegantly, stylishly and humorously.

The interior concept takes it’s inspiration from the busy French Brasserie’s of the 1900’s to the roaring twenties. An eclectic mix of chic fabrics, light fittings and ceramic tiles combine to delight the senses. This theme is exaggerated with numerous illustrations hand painted onto traditional timber fielded panelling inspired by the comical 1900’s French lithographical cafe food and drink posters of the era.

Neon LED strip lights adorn the panelled arches and draw the passer by into the spirit of Circo.

Heavy velvet curtains divide the space and create intimacy yet never allowing the customer to be segregated from the whole experience.

Entry is via a rich red velvet curtain which shouts “let the show begin”.

The rear of the restaurant was designed to feel more like an indoor outdoor space or ‘orangery’. Ceramic diagonal striped floors draw you in and you are then immersed in a wall to wall mural of ‘jungle hospitality’. (It’s a jungle out there)

Large outdoor mirrors reflect the interior fittings and visually enlarge a very narrow space.

The colour palette was inspired by the vintage tones of early ‘Circus’ motifs. These can be seen in the furniture fabrics, the curtains and murals. Red velvets, stripes, chevrons, rusted tones complimented with light sage wall panels.

Dining chairs are traditional with rattan backs complimented with whimsical seat upholstery, echoing the fashions of the European Brasserie. Light fittings are beautifully chic, made in glass, brass or silk shades.

Circo is an experience of joy, laughter and mischief, with a sprinkle of sophisticated charm.
